About us
Every year around 450 people die in the UK from drowning; the majority of these are at Inland sites with around 40 being in the home. Although it is not always possible to prevent these from happening, a little lifesaving knowledge could seriously increase the casualty’s chances of survival.
The skills we teach at SLSC, on the South Coast of England, are not only designed around preventing drownings but can also help you cope with casualties suffering from many other medical conditions such as Heart Attacks, Choking, Bleeding, Shock and Hypothermia. All of our members are also taught how to perform Rescue Breathing and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation).
Only a portion of our members will end up becoming professional lifesavers but the skills that we teach leave all of our members in the position where they could potentially help to save somebody’s life.
So whether you are 7 or 107 come along to SLSC at Oaklands Pool in the Oasis Academy Lordshill, Southampton, and learn essential skills.
We are also more than happy to accept members who are working towards a Duke of Edinburgh's Award (click on the 'D of E Award' link in the index).
Attending the Club is also a great way to KEEP FIT, MAKE FRIENDS, HAVE FUN and GAIN NATIONALLY RECOGNISED AWARDS!!
